INTERNET IMPACT

Internet impact

The Internet quickly became a socio-technical phenomenon that received a lot of media coverage. It had and will have a determined impact on society and its future. People are attracted to this phenomenon and dedicate a lot of time to it, changing ways of working or affecting human interaction. Will the relationships between people be the same, or will everyone prefer to work in their own digital space? What do these changes represent for society and family life? Will the new technology mean reducing the time spent at work and increasing the number of hours worked at home, something that would imply a strengthening of family relationships?

It is obvious that the Internet's tendency to revolutionise information and entertainment means affects both their production and consumption, transforming social life and our behavior, even political institutions and the role of citizens within them. The studies carried out on a sample of Internet users and non-users revealed the following:

Thanks to the Internet, there is almost nothing that cannot be done from the comfort of your home, from visiting stores of all kinds to paying bills, doing research and documentation for various jobs, and even keeping in touch with friends thousands of miles away. distance.
As the number of years since the internet has been used increases, so does the number of hours, the internet becoming indispensable. The participants of a survey agreed to stay without internet for two weeks. After only two days some of them "felt strange", and after five days they gave up on this survey. A very small number of people resisted, but declared that they would not want to repeat this experience.
Communication, which used to mean writing letters, has now been reduced to a few mouse clicks; thus, people have the possibility to correspond by e-mail much faster and more efficiently than by traditional mail.

Positive Impact:
Abundance of information. The internet is an incredible tool that can be used for assignment os projects. If you need to look up information for a job or an essay , there are some great resources found on a web such as the internet public library or one of many online encyclopedias .
Negative impact:
alienation from institutions (family, educational institutions, and workplace); impersonal isolation. Studies show the tendency of people to become more stressed, more depressed, and more lonely with every hour spent in the obscure world of chat. It is obvious that, although online chat rooms offer the same interactivity as face-to-face discussions, these discussions lack the personal contact necessary for the development of communication skills.

This will also negatively affect the way teenagers communicate with family, friends, and other members of society.

Loss of one's own culture (The Internet introduces an invasion of chaotic culture, which can lead to the loss of one's own culture and the adoption of a new culture. The adoption of a new culture will lead to a disastrous disintegration of national values. Loss of identity (Alienation and the loss of one's own culture will inevitably lead to the loss of identity.)Human reactions regarding everything IT technology means have remained unclear until now. Some welcome these changes with euphoria, others are afraid of the consequences. The truth is somewhere in the middle.
